

Your responsibilities will include:
Serving as a key R&D team member focused on test method development for next-generation access sheaths and mechanical circulatory support devices
Leading the creation of novel test methods and enhancing existing ones to evaluate key product performance characteristics
Designing and executing structured experimental plans to drive data-based decisions
Collaborating with Design Assurance on test method validations, including documentation and statistical analysis
Communicating technical updates clearly and effectively to cross-functional stakeholders
Guiding and mentoring junior engineers and technicians on test method execution
Translating clinical use cases and physician feedback into actionable engineering requirements
Collaborating with cross-functional teams including process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing
Creating and maintaining detailed documentation such as test reports, memos, and change requests
Analyzing engineering problems and recommending solutions or alternative approaches based on sound technical reasoning
Applying engineering principles to evaluate requirements, components, and systems throughout the development lifecycle
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years' experience with a BS degree, or minimum of 3 years' experience with an MS degree, primarily in the medical device or related field
Demonstrated experience in developing and validating test methods for medical or mechanical systems
Proficiency in SolidWorks
Strong understanding of statistical analysis techniques and application to experimental design
Proven mechanical engineering and analytical problem-solving skills
Prior experience working in the medical device industry (any class)
Ability to synthesize technical data from various sources and make informed recommendations
Self-starter with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to engineering development
Preferred qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to drive deliverables through creative problem solving and cross-functional collaboration
Experience with the development of vascular access sheaths and delivery systems
Proven ability to ideate, prototype, and implement innovative test method solutions
Experience engaging directly with physicians and end users during product design and evaluation
Familiarity with design controls, risk management processes, and DV/DVAL execution
Experience supporting all stages of the product development process (PDP lifecycle)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead within a matrixed environment
Excellent organizational and collaboration skills in a dynamic team setting
