Your Impact
The antenna engineer will be responsible for the antennas that are part of our products from the definition phase to shipping. The process includes simulations, prototyping, measurements (in the field, in the lab, active and passive), writing antenna specifications and test plans, guiding and reviewing the work of our partners, reviewing compliance lab reports, providing technical materials to the marketing and sales teams, and leading the efforts to solve any antenna related problems that may surface.
Interaction with cross-functional teams, JDM partners, antenna vendors, compliance labs, and other organizations.
Mentoring junior antenna engineers for lab related activities such as the use of soldering stations, microscopes, network and spectrum analyzers, RF connectors, attenuators, PCB designs, and the tools required to build reliable prototypes.
To be confident and familiar with the processes, practices, and tools required to build and run accurate simulations models (XFDTD, HFSS, CST, etc.), measuring material properties, building prototypes, taking measurements in the anechoic chamber (MVG and ETS systems), and generating relevant reports and presentations.
Exploring new technologies and processes to be implemented in the next cycle of Cisco products that could also be conducive to patents and publications.
Availability to attend to evening video-calls throughout the week with our partners in Asia.

MS in electrical engineering with emphasis in electromagnetism and antenna design with 5+ years of industry experience or Ph.D. in electrical engineering with emphasis in electromagnetism and antenna design with 2+ years of relevant experience
Deep understanding of electromagnetism and antenna design concepts, and experience with antenna designs for Wi-Fi/BT, Cellular, UWB, GNSS, and antenna arrays.
End-to-end product development experience on at least one product from design to shipment
Preferred Qualifications
Basic level of RF (design and testing), programming (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW) and basic understanding of EMC, ESD, Surge, and radio compliance testing
Exposure to working with Contract Manufacturing (CM) model and/or Joint-Development Model (JDM)
When required by our projects, the antenna engineer may be required to work on an extended schedule to complete urgent tasks and should also be available for occasional international travel to Asia (up to 5%).
