We are seeking a highly motivated storage software product development engineer with 2 to 5 years of product development, design, and support experience. As a vital member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing storage solution to ensure the high performance, stability, and reliability of IBM storage software.
- Software Development and Maintenance: Code, design and implementation of C/C++ software components for storage/backup products, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and performance guidelines.
- Product Support: Provide technical expertise and support to customers and internal stakeholders regarding database-related inquiries and issues.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging: Investigate and resolve complex software issues, Excellent debugging, core-dump analysis skills, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- System Programming Skills: To debug system software, analyse for performance bottle neck and remediate to improve overall system performance.
- Storage/Backup Skills: In-depth knowledge of backup technologies, such as tape libraries, disk-based backup, and cloud-based solutions.
- Database Skills: Design and optimize database schemas to ensure its scalability and optimal performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in database technologies, C/C++ development practices, and software design principles. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance product performance and maintainability.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data within the database.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2-5 years of experience in C/C++ system software development, including product development and support.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
- Expertise in systems and storage software development.
- Solid understanding of software design principles and best practices.
- Experience in optimizing multithreaded environment is a plus
- Experience with storage systems, backup environments are highly desirable.
- Experience with other databases, such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL, is a plus.
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or
equivalent practical experience)
