The Project Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate projects across Operations, in cooperation with our Product, Technology partners and our clients;
- Formulate detailed project plans, analysis of effort, cost and impact on various Citi businesses to ensure timely execution and mitigate potential risks;
- Support in analysis & oversight of proposed system changes to assure smooth projects implementation;
- Build and manage an effective project team;
- Challenge the status quo, display initiative and innovation;
- Take proactive actions targeted at minimizing and mitigating implementation risk;
- Ensure that all necessary project documentation is maintained and all necessary approvals for the project are obtained;
- Act as a trusted partner to Clients and internal business partners;
- Display appropriate involvement in Department strategic planning;
- Drive improvement and competitive differentiation by proposing and implementing innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in Project Management or in operational improvements areas (e.g. Lean, reengineering programs);
- Experience in driving projects with external clients;
- Experience of working with asset management clients on a variety of investment fund vehicles (e.g. OEICS, Segregated) or Securities Services operations (desirable);
- Ability to influence the clients directly;
- Ability to work in fast paced environment under tight contractual deadlines;
- Capability for stepping into business analysis at times when required;
- An understanding of financial market and eagerness to grasp Operations business;
- Proven understanding of PMBOK standard and/or PMP certification is advantageous;
- Very good command of English;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Proven ability to independently prioritize tasks and manage own capacity.
- Team Management experience would be an additional asset.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
