JOB DESCRIPTION

As a MAU Core Software Developer at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be responsible for updating existing MAU Core/Epic Platforms software components and developing new platform functionalities. The MAU Core software suite includes key components such as the Epic/Apex system Common Core, Periodic Device Driver, Core BIT Software, Configuration Monitor System, Fault History Manager, File System Software, Platform Abstraction Layer, Boot Software, FTP Server, and Local Area Network software. Additionally, you will work on the Avionics System Communication Bus (ASCB) Software and Input/Output (IO) Software for the Epic Apex System.

Your role will involve developing embedded software that interacts closely with Epic/Apex Module hardware, running primarily on the Deos TM Operating System. You will follow the DO-178B Design Assurance Level A process and adhere to Epic/Apex standards. This includes creating and updating planning documents (SSCIA, PSAC), coding, integrating software into an Epic/Apex load using PIRT, and formalizing software through Software Requirements, Design Description Documents, and supporting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities. You will also review V&V documentation, perform analyses, write Software Accomplishment Summary documents, and complete Software Configuration Index Documents. Throughout the process, you will utilize Software Configuration Management Tools and support Software Quality practices.

You will report directly to our Software Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.

• 2+ years of experience in software development using C/C++, including the development and integration of embedded software.
• Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies
• Experience with software testing and debugging techniques
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills


• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as computer science, software
• Experience with aerospace software development
• Knowledge of safety-critical software development standards and practices
• Experience with DO-178B Level A software development processes.
• Experience using and interfacing with the Deos Operating System
• Epic/Apex system knowledge or avionics system knowledge.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
