As ayou will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wastewater treatment plants and related facilities equipment on an assigned shift
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Read and record information in Maintenance Connection. Work orders, and mechanical information sheets
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles (i.e., fluid levels,
belts, tires)
• Perform routine onsite pump station inspections
• Test auxiliary equipment (i.e., alarms, HVAC, pumps, engines, generators)
• Lubricate equipment and replace filters
• Assists in keeping maintenance records
• Communicates effectively at all levels regarding recommended maintenance and repair procedures
• Follows written and oral instructions
• Performs other duties as required
• High school diploma or GED
• Possess a valid driver’s license
Ideally, you'll also have:
• Some trade school education with an emphasis on electrical and mechanical equipment and metal fabrication
• Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in the construction, repair, and operation of engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment related to wastewater treatment plant operations and procedures
• Knowledge of the operations of internal combustion engines and electrical pump motors; safe work practices
• Ability to enter data into Maintenance Connection computer maintenance management system
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
