What will you do

  • Conduct hands-on testing on RISC-V hardware, identify and troubleshoot issues, ensure seamless integration of the architecture within Fedora.

  • Design and implement test plans, cases and scripts.

  • Develop test automation and integration with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize the most impactful changes.

  • Be active in the Fedora community, and the driving force of the RISC-V working group.

What will you bring

  • Practical, in-depth Linux experience with shell usage and basic system administration - you have encountered and solved problems like stuck boot process, failing services, and networking related issues.

  • Ideally a daily Linux user, using it on the desktop and/or running their own server, multimedia center, or similar.

  • A mindset of enjoying digging deep into problems, and identifying the root cause of issues with the ability to differentiate between corner-cases and standard usage.

  • An ability to both break and fix systems and processes, and ideally you have already reported issues in an Open Source project.

  • Experience and aptitude working with a distributed team where you are expected to be proactive and can prioritize tasks, utilizing excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Proven experience working in Git with an ability to understand and debug any given code to identify a likely source of an issue.

  • Ideally proficient in Python development, but baseline Python knowledge is sufficient.

The following are considered a plus

  • Knowledge of C programming.

  • Hands-on experience with alternative architectures (ARM/RISC-V/…) or embedded boards / Interest in Hardware in general.

  • Experience with test automation and CI/CD processes.

  • Activity within open-source communities.

  • Previous contributions to open-source projects.
