As a Product Designer at Lightrun, you will be at the forefront of revolutionizing how developers interact with their tools. Collaborating with our innovative team, you will create exceptional user experiences that developers worldwide will rely on daily. In this role, you will establish and lead best practices and processes, setting the standard for UX/UI design within our organization.
What you'll do: (responsibilities)
- Hands-On Design Work: Engage in hands-on design tasks, ensuring the highest quality of UI and UX for our products.
- UI/UX Processes and Tooling: Recommend and implement UI and UX processes, tooling, and work methodologies to enhance our product design framework.
- Feature Design: Act as the go-to person for the UX and UI design of new product features, ensuring they meet user needs and enhance overall user experience.
- User Experience Improvement: Continuously improve the existing user experience by understanding user feedback and iterating on design solutions.
- Ideation and Vision: Partner with the team in the ideation process, contributing to the vision for new features, providing best practices, conducting user research, and helping test ideas through prototyping.
- User Understanding: Gain deep insights into our users' day-to-day work, specifically focusing on how developers are building, testing and troubleshooting code.
- Tool Mastery: Acquire a thorough understanding of the tools our users rely on, with a strong emphasis on Integrated Development Environments (IDEs).
- Market Analysis: Conduct research to learn about other players in the observability domain and their offerings, identifying opportunities for differentiation and improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers and R&D to ensure cohesive and effective product development.
What We're looking for: (qualifications and requirements)
- At least 5 years of proven experience as a Product Designer in a software company. Experience working in the observability domain or similar industries is an advantage.
- Strong skills in UI and UX design, with a solid portfolio showcasing your work on complex software products. Only applications with a portfolio link will be considered. We are particularly interested in your experience with digital software products and systems at the enterprise level, including B2B, SaaS, and desktop software projects. Please avoid including examples of mobile, website, or marketing campaign projects.
- Demonstrated ability to design with a user-centered approach, deeply understanding user needs and behaviors.
- Ability to analyze competition and industry trends to inform design decisions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and other stakeholders.
- Flexibility and openness to iterate on designs based on user feedback and changing requirements.
- A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies, bringing innovative ideas to the table.
- Experience with prototyping tools and methodologies for testing design ideas.
- Familiarity with the tools and environments used by developers, particularly IDEs (an advantage).
