As a Software Developer Engineer in Test with our Platform Security Quality Engineering team, you'll ensure the security of our platform. You'll be testing scans and threat analysis reports, and helping build quality into an industry leading anomaly detection system. You'll refine your technical expertise partnering with some of the industry's finest engineers, architects, and security researchers here at Akamai.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:

• Building frameworks to automate the deployment, configuration, and security testing for components of our platform.
• Reading vulnerability disclosures, examining malware, and inspecting Akamai systems for vulnerabilities.
• Communicating test plans and test documents in a clear and concise manner to developers, architects, and leaders.
• Participating n code reviews to ensure code quality and suggesting improvements whenever necessary.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor's CS/IT and relevant experience with an equivalent to Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
• Have an interest in cloud security and knowledge of secure development best practices.
• Have experience working with Linux/Unix systems and containerization.
• Have a good understanding of secure programming and networking best practices, such as those defined by OWASP.
• Be proficient in writing well-documented, testable, Python (or equivalent) code.
• Have exposure to network fundamentals (HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)
