The Capital and Funding team is responsible for understanding, advising on, and optimizing the capital and funding requirements of Bank of America both at the top of the house and at the legal entity level. This understanding has to span the existing regulatory framework such as Basel 3 RWA under both advanced and standardized approaches and the liquidity coverage ratio (LCR), as well as pending regulations (e.g. fundamental review of the trading book - FRTB).
Responsibilities:
- Advise senior management about the current state of the financial resource and/or capital and funding related regulatory environment
- Responsibility for analyzing and presenting to management the allocation and drivers of capital, balance sheet and liquidity utilization
- Drive firm wide initiatives to improve financial metric reporting and optimization
- Developing and implementing financial resource management strategy to achieve revenue goals
- Advise business on financial resource and/or regulatory impact of specific transactions
- Review model logic to ensure assumptions reflect market dynamics
- Providing peer analysis, market color and generating optimization ideas
- Work with key stakeholders within Global Markets and partners (Finance, Treasury, Risk, Operations, Compliance) to deliver improved returns on financial resources
- Drive platform development with quantitative and technology teams, deliver tools to end user that enable improved financial performance, including transaction reviews and assessments
Skills:
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills are required
- Technical skills to digest large data sets and deliver a concise story
- Previous experience with the firms risk and booking systems is preferential
- Good critical reading skills in order to digest regulation and understand business impact
- Attention to detail in reviewing calculator and model logic
- Ability to speak with senior trading staff about complex topics
- Demonstrate previous experience managing projects and governance routines
- Anticipating the financial resource requirement of trading businesses
- Preference for existing funding and liquidity management experience
