Description
IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO:- Specify, design, and implement PHY Layer1 Software/Firmware of a state-of-the-art mobile wireless communications system for 4G/5G and beyond.- Implement Layer1 scheduling and control processing in tight timeline, latency, and power constraints, including RF control, power savings and concurrency handling.- PHY Layer1 Software architecture design, development and optimizations.- Development of pre-silicon emulation systems/virtual platforms for L1 FW design and verification.- Evaluate and implement innovative tools for build, formal verification, and test.
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year of hands-on embedded C/C++ software development experience with L1 software/firmware
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, and core computer science fundamentals.
- Strong understanding with C and/or C++, compilers, build and source code control tools.
- Experience with memory constrained Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and concurrent programming.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 + years of In-depth hands-on embedded software development experience with PHY L1 Software/Firmware in 5G/4G technologies
- Working knowledge of computer architecture with particular emphasis on the HW/SW interfaces of high-speed communication subsystems.
- Experience with silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms.
- Strong experience with debugging embedded software systems.
- Knowledge and experience of Machine Learning/AI is a plus.
- Able to focus and learn key new things quickly and deeply
- Independent thinker that can identify current gaps and propose better architectural changes
- Effective communication skills
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams well
- BS Computer Science or equivalent experience
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $115,700 and $204,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
