JOB DESCRIPTION

Honeywell’s ACST Team is seeking a curious and mission-driven Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Environments and Infrastructure (E&I) team in Golden Valley, MN.

  • Citizenship Required: United States Citizenship
  • Clearance Required: Yes; you must either currently have or be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance
  • Relocation Assistance: Relocation assistance may be available.

This role is also eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus in addition to base pay.

U.S. citizenship is required due to contractual requirements. Applicants must also be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of security processing.

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

  • Engineering of custom mechanical systems to in support of laboratory experimentation
  • Developing and designing architectures involving heat and fluid flow in cryogenic environments
  • Design and development of integrated solutions with cryogenics being a key component
  • Partnering with scientists and program management on E&I technical roadmapping

for this position is $106,000 – $133,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • 8+ years designing and developing custom mechanical systems

WE VALUE

  • Masters or above in Mechanical Engineering with 0-4 years of industry experience depending on educational background
  • Proven track record of working with systems investigating physical phenomena, particularly thermal fluids, multiphase fluids, and/or supercritical CO2
  • Proven track record of mechanical system design.
  • Previous experience mentoring/leading teams and helping to build team skills
  • Experience developing and implementing test plans, with the ability to adapt to unexpected test conditions and experimental.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, analyze, operate, build, and test complex systems
  • Demonstrated experience with modeling, simulation tools, and analytical techniques related to fluid dynamics (e.g., Matlab, Mathematica, COMSOL, Python, LabVIEW)
  • Current security clearance for work on government contracts
