Your impact
This role requires extensive technical and practical knowledge of rail vehicle brake systems and components. You’d manage the interface between consultant team and client, and also the interface between the car-builder and the client/consultant team. You’ll provide Engineering support in preparation and oversee the execution of technical specifications for functional, sub system, testing, maintenance and training requirements for rail vehicle procurements or overhauls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design and integration of brake systems for high-speed, commuter and intercity, heavy rail, mass transit, and light rail vehicles.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure acceptance of system designs.
- Execute qualification testing and vehicle acceptance testing.
- Coordinate and support vehicle qualification test programs, including procedures, execution, and reporting.
- Review and provide recommendations for brake system overhaul processes to optimize cost savings and efficiency.
- Support procurement and design review processes for new trainsets and vehicle overhauls.
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies in rail braking systems.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
- Willingness to travel for on-site inspections and client meetings.
