Job Description:
Acting as a critical member of the broader Corporate Actuarial Life & Health team, the Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to continue your career as an Actuary at TD. This role requires extensive knowledge of the Canadian valuation process.
Your accountabilities will include:

Valuation of actuarial liabilities
Quarterly required capital calculations under the Life Insurance Capital Adequacy Test (LICAT)
Annual Financial Conditions Test (FCT)
Appointed Actuary's Report (AAR)
Annual experience studies
Other analysis to support the Corporate Actuarial team
AXIS Model Development:
Communicate with Corporate Actuarial colleagues to understand modeling requirements
Perform AXIS coding to model new requirements
Improve existing models for accuracy and efficiency
Quantify the impacts of modeling changes in terms of reserve and capital
Validate model results for accuracy and reasonableness
Develop and maintain controlsaround the valuation and capital processes for financial and regulatory reporting, including:
Data management and validation
Model change management
Liability rollforward analysis
Earnings by Source
Support the vetting and audit processes
Other tasks to support the Corporate Actuarial Life & Health team's mandate
Qualifications and Education Guidelines
Communication:
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. French is an asset.
Expertise with technical language and concepts.
Proficient in communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Analytical Skills:
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Produces high-quality work.
Proficient with Moody's AXIS software, including AXIS Link.
Demonstrated strength with Excel, MS Access, and other database or analytical software.
Knowledge of SAS Solution for IFRS 17 is an asset.
Experience with SAS, SQL, R, Python, Tableau, or equivalent is considered an asset.

Ability to work independently and manage deadlines during periods of stress.
Professional Guidelines:
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or another quantitative area of study.
Working towards Fellowship with the Society of Actuaries and Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
Minimum 5 years of Life & Health Insurance actuarial experience.
Minimum 2 years of IFRS 17 AXIS modeling experience.
