Global Transportation Optimization Analyst

- Your primary focus is collecting, interpreting and analyzing transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities within the transportation network.
- Optimize routing, mode selection, redesign of product flow paths to improve cost efficiency and reduce transit time.
- Identify and implement Mode (parcel, LTL, FTL, intermodal) and Load improvement (trailer/container utilization) opportunities across the USAC network.
- Lead and implement governance process of Mode and Load efficiencies across the USAC network.
- Monitor adherence to optimized mode selection, trailer and container utilization.
- Identify and drive communications with Customer Service and Planning to optimize ordering profile
- Develop data and leverage reports and PowerBI dashboard capabilities to audit process adherence.
- Collaborate closely with cross functional teams, including Logistics, IT and Supply Chain operations to lead and execute transportation optimization projects.
- Develop and maintain transportation cost-saving programs and opportunities.
- Track transportation cost savings, report progress and summarize actions and results.
- Generate regular reports and present findings to stakeholders and senior management.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (
at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Three (3) years of Supply Chain/Logistics experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Two (2) years of experience developing and executing data analyses within Supply Chain functions
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of Transportation experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Logistics and multi-modal operations experience with combination of
transportation modes including but not limited to: FTL, IM, LTL, Rail, Flat-
Bed, Parcel, Dedicated and Cartage. - Experience booking transportation services including full truckload,
intermodal, less-than-truckload, flat-bed and expedited. - Strong analytical and systems skill set including but not limited to
proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Access, SAP, TMS, WMS, etc. - Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Demonstrated strong communication and initiative with improvement activities in previous role(s)
- Self-motivated ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Ability to be flexible and agile, to support evolving responsibilities within Transportation
Work location:
- Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to Maplewood
