As an Analyst/Associate in the Equity Research team, you will be at the forefront of providing clients with insightful and strategic research. You will work closely with a dynamic team to deliver high-quality reports and analyses that drive client decisions. Your role is crucial in maintaining our reputation for excellence and innovation in equity research.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to thematic sector reports and collaborate on cross-sector projects with other teams.
- Handle day-to-day client requests and needs efficiently.
- Communicate your team's ideas persuasively to internal and external parties, tailoring communications to client needs.
- Organize fact-finding trips and channel-check meetings upon clients’ bespoke requests or for investor tours.
- Suggest new approaches or ideas to enhance your franchise as a business.
- Understand and adhere to the firm's risk management policies and applicable legal and regulatory rules.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Excellent English writing skills and Business Mandarin reading/speaking proficiency.
- Proven analytical skills, not limited to accounting and finance.
- Ability to independently arrange fact-finding trips and channel-check meetings.
- Entrepreneurial drive with strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to complete a robust model (base and sensitivity cases) from start to finish with minimal guidance; mastery of the levers in the model.
- Ability to discuss in detail your understanding of the fundamentals/drivers (competitive landscape, risks) of your industry/country and thoroughly understand drivers of relevant markets to explain and anticipate market movements.
- Ability to synthesize disparate pieces of information and articulate a compelling thesis or argument clearly and cogently.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Strong preference for trilingual analyst (Basic Korean OR Japanese).
- Preference for analysts with prior work experience in investigative journalism at a reputable media outlet.
- Background in Energy, Commodity, EV battery, Chemicals is a plus.
- A CFA/CPA, or progress toward a CFA/CPA, is a plus.
- Demonstrates creativity in solving problems and always looks for new ways of doing things.
- Ability to thrive under competitive pressures and highly focused on business/client needs.
- Ability to interact comfortably with business clients and management.
