The overall objective of this role is to ensure seamless delivery of corporate actions and security valuation, in order to facilitate the calculation of daily Net Asset Valuations (NAVs) for Mutual Funds and Exchange Traded Funds in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of professionals to ensure operational processes are delivered timely and accurately, following documented procedures and defined guidelines.
- Identify and implement corrective action plans while analyzing and assessing business risk.
- Serve as primary point of escalation for internal and external inquiries, to include complex requests related to cash and position reconciliation breaks.
- Identify and implement service, system, and process enhancements.
- Lead and evaluate system testing and train staff on new technology enhancements.
- Drive development and achievement of strategic goals, as well as implement methods to reduce expenses and recommend enhancements.
- Host one on one calls with team members to discuss goal setting, professional development, and performance evaluation.
- Lead internal and external calls and participate in senior management presentations.
- Ensure accurate valuation is applied to the fund’s financial instruments such as domestic and foreign stocks, bonds, futures, and options and manage communication in terms of timeliness and deliverables to key stakeholders.
- Calculate and analyze market value movement and impact to fund’s NAV derived from price fluctuation.
- Provide oversight over Security Master and Reference Data activities, including but not limited to security setup, fixed and variable coupon rate and credit rating.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to promote collaboration, best practices, and collective approach.
- Support internal and external audits and review work for adherence to procedures and compliance requirements.
- Facilitate training sessions for new hires and cross training amongst the team, in addition to managing onboarding and familiarization.
- Assist in completing all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements for clients.
- Encourage the team to participate in projects and initiatives and make suggestions on process improvements and efficiency opportunities.
- Escalate concerns and issues in a timely manner, maintaining focus on client service excellence.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with accounting, finance, or business-related area.
- Working knowledge of industry practices and standards.
- Proficient computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven leadership and project management skills.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication, inclusive of presentational skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge in related area.
- Experience with market data sources preferred, i.e., Bloomberg, ICE Data Services, Thomson Reuters (LSEG).
- Fund accounting or asset servicing functional experience preferred, i.e., corporate actions, security pricing, reference data, etc.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
