Job Description – Technology Consulting Senior Manager – Financial Services – Capital Markets: This position could be located in NY (primary), NJ, CT.
Your key responsibilities
Specifically, this role will be required to lead teams in the design of technical solutions, performing analysis of business requirements, translating requirements into functional specifications for implementation by development teams. Assisting with feature design, business process decomposition, supporting technical system integration, modernization, optimization, decommissioning and analysis of underlying front to back data requirements.
Additionally, you may be supporting client technology organizations with front to back delivery processes, with ability to provide hands-on leadership across one or multiple phases of delivery. Leverage your experience in Technical Project Management and Agile ways of working.
In this role you will lead client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, fostering an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment and provide constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members. You will be an active member providing counselling and mentoring to junior consultants within the organization.
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- A bachelor's degree and approximately 10 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience
- At least 7 years of experience in managing and supervising teams of professional employees and mentoring team members through development feedback and performance processes
- A degree in computer science, engineering, or in a business-related field; MS degree is a plus
- Hands-on experience with delivering technology solutions in Capital Markets industry across any of the following processes:
- Transaction processing from pre-trade to settlement
- Transaction pricing
- Computing of risk exposures
- Position management
- Collateral management
- Client onboarding
- Understanding of technology environment across Capital Markets; typical integration of key systems and platforms (trade capture, pricing, reference data, market data, etc)
- Understanding of basic principles of financial data modeling; data shape, size, velocity of change
- Strong knowledge of transaction lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of financial instruments and asset classes (Fixed Income, Derivatives, Equities, FX, etc)
- Understanding of functions across front, middle and back office
- Overall understanding of the front to back capital markets data supply chain
- Exceptional Core Consulting Skills
- Experience in supporting Technology Delivery Projects
- Demonstrated hands-on experience across multiple facets of the software development life-cycle in a range of methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.), focused on either requirements definition, systems analysis or technical design, development through testing and implementation
- Background in Business systems analysis, requirements documentation, technical specification development and testing Experience with various aspects of Business architecture domains Experience documenting system requirements and functional specifications in support of various integration architecture patterns
- Experience across various SDLC components supporting the implementation of vendor packages,
- Technical Project management and Technical Delivery management across all areas of SDLC is a bonus
- Technical profile must show:
- Ability to read software code and understand logic of implementation
- Data analysis, Cataloguing and Linage
- Document technical solutions, create visual diagrams, process flows, systems flows, data flows
- Advise clients on technical design decisions (batch vs real time, services vs file integration, relational database vs unstructured data, soap vs rest, json vs rdf, etc)
- Proficient with use of Jira, VersionOne, Rally or similar technology productivity tools
- Decomposition of business requirements into Epics, User Stories, Tasks for Agile Development
- Decomposition of business requirements into technical specifications for Waterfall Development
- Development of use cases and test scripts to support Regression Testing, Stress Testing, QA testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in manual and automated test environments
- Hands-on experience with setup and configuration of test automation tools
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and understanding of CI/CD pipeline
- Data modeling, creation of ER diagrams
- Support Level 2-type activities in the application support environment
Ideally, you’ll also have experience in:
- Working knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Python, SCALA, Java, C++, Unix, SQL, R
- Experience working with cross-language application environments, understanding of strengths and weaknesses of solutions in place
- Ability to critically assess current state technology environment, compare and contrast with prevailing industry standards and recommend improvement opportunities
- Support development of organization business case, technology strategy and implementation roadmap
- Familiarity with key financial market regulations such as CAT, CFTC SDR, MiFiD II, EMIR 15c3-3, 15c3-5, RegSHO, Dodd-Frank, etc.
- Strong knowledge of financial industry utilities (Exchanges, Clearing Organizations, Repositories, Bloomberg, etc)
- Hands-on experience with Capital Markets key vendor solutions and products used across the trade lifecycle
- Familiarity with Enterprise Technology Governance functions such as Architecture Review Process, Design Authority,
- Familiarity with Technical Change Management, Demand Management processes

The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $169,900 to $388,200. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $203,900 to $441,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
