The Platform Engineer role will require the ability to perform a diverse array of intermediate technical work. Seeking an associate with deep network and wireless knowledge and experience, who can multitask and think intuitively. Candidates should be flexible and able to implore time management and project management skills, as well as have strong troubleshooting abilities. The primary responsibility of this position is supporting Capital One Branch and Café network and wireless environments. The position is also responsible for some Branch desktop support, voice support and general IT support. Other responsibilities include using network monitoring tools and utilities for proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and incident response. Areas of focus include routing, switching, network security, and Cisco wireless hardware and software. Ability to communicate and foster collaboration in IT and business areas, as well as build relationships with business partners and other support teams is critical. This position may require working weekends occasionally and participating on a rotating on-call schedule to support 24/7 operations when branches and cafes are open.
General Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, assistance, coordination and follow up on user questions, problems or malfunctions of Branch and Café networks, hardware, software and wireless equipment
- Proactively, identify and address issues utilizing provided tools
- Perform daily monitoring, updating and closing of incident tickets
- Escalate issues as needed and maintain communication with the customer, technical teams and Vendors within the established service level agreements
- Inform management of potential problems and identifies problem trends
- Create and maintain support documentation and training materials
- Implement new strategies or procedures when required
- Assist with Installs, configure and upgrade device hardware and software as needed
- Any other duties and special projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 1 year of experience in IT Systems and infrastructure
- At least 1 year of experience with TCP/IP protocols
- At least 1 year of experience with Windows or Linux operating systems and support
- At least 1 year of experience in Network Management and Monitoring Tools and Utilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering
- CCNA, Network+ or Security+ Certificate
- 3 + years of experience in Incident, Change, Problem and Configuration Management
- 2+ years of experience in all aspects of Network and Security
- 1+ years of experience in Fault, Capacity and Performance Management
Illinois (Hybrid On-Site): $106,900 - $122,000 for Platform EngineerThis role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
