Additional tasks include:

Arrange and conduct pre-work meetings. Attend and participate in coordination meetings, preparatory phase meetings, and safety meetings
  • Log and maintain data as necessary to assist with project management and decision-making
  • Thoroughly study plans and specifications to obtain knowledge of construction requirements and design criteria. Recommend changes to plans or specifications where needed, i.e., deficiencies, differing site conditions, user requests, and provide “lessons learned” comments to designers
  • Participate in the contract modification process, prepare scopes of work for RFP's, assist in preparation of government estimates, and review contractor's proposals
  • Develop Quality Assurance Plans for projects and ensure that QA Plans are implemented in accordance with regulations. Support onsite Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) with all construction activities to include quality, safety, and coordination
  • Make periodic checks of contractor's work for overall compliance with Plans, Specifications, and other contract and construction requirements
  • Monitor scheduled progress of all construction activities and phases of construction and advise the Resident Engineer of potential slippage or delay
  • Update status of assigned project(s) in RMS including potential problems and milestone events

Participate and execute RFI and submittal reviews, including coordination with the designers, Resident Engineer, technical experts, and execute responses to the contractor. Prepare correspondence regarding contractor performance, Requests for Information (RFIs) and other technical issues. Assist in review of contractors’ requests arising from disputes and claims and make recommendations for resolution
  • Prepare both partial and final payment estimates, including the measurement and computation of pay item quantities, verification of materials on hand, and percentage completion of lump sum items
