This position will provide project leadership opportunities as a senior telecommunications designer to work in conjunction with supporting design staff while producing complex design packages. This is done in coordination with architects and other discipline engineers / design leads all under one Jacobs “roof”. You will interface directly with our client counterparts to design these facilities to meet their needs. Our teams leverage Revit MEP and AutoCAD and design software to create fully coordinated 3D models across all disciplines. Through a mixture of full 3D BIM delivery, construction specifications and 2D sheets, you’ll lead the design of everything from inter / intra-building backbone distribution systems, communication room layouts, rack elevations, wired & wireless device plans and cable schedules. All facets of the designs and calculations will be completed in accordance with the NEC, applicable TIA and other industry standards as well as client and/or Jacobs’ specifications, as applicable.

· High school graduate or equivalent
· At least 8 years of BIM design experience
· At least 4 years of relevant experience in telecommunications design and construction industry
· Understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions
· Understanding of design and construction specifications and their function
· Understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment
· Experience following client design and modeling standards
· Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided markups and/or verbal direction requests
· Willingness to learn
· Ability to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ
Ideally, you’ll also have:
· At least 6 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD design experience
· At least 5 years of telecommunications design experience in the semiconductor manufacturing, data center facilities, and other state of the art manufacturing and research facilities.
· Knowledge and design experience with paging, intercom, and audio-visual systems
· Knowledge and design experience with life safety and security systems, fire alarm, access control, CCTV
· Knowledge of control systems and network components and topology
