As an Instrumentation & Controls Technician, you'll be involved in all parts of the projects solving complex problems, taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions, identifying applications of functional knowledge, and applying existing methodologies to complex problems. You'll assist with maintaining a diverse deployment of motor controls, process instrumentation, and PLC Control systems while being service-oriented and proactive in anticipating and resolving problems while maximizing the efficient use of resources. You'll also be responsible for developing and implementing upgrades across projects of differing sizes and budgets. You’ll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business, as well as gain experience working directly with our clients. Typical Duties:
- Configuring, wiring, commissioning of Process Instruments & Motor Controls
- Supporting the installation of Control Panels, PLCs, & SCADA Servers, and Workstations
- Troubleshooting process control instrumentation issues including wiring, calibration and configuration.
- Assist with troubleshooting process control issues
- Work with facility managers to identify instrumentation needs
- Collaborate with other disciplines on equipment functional testing, installation & startup
- Day to day direction from the plant maintenance department.
- Solid technical training in Electrical Fundamentals, Electrical Maintenance and practical training in instrumentation and controls.
- Experience with test equipment tools such as digital voltage/current meters and electrical test bench equipment.
- Fundamental knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, radio telemetry and control systems.
- Knowledge of IT or OT networking and virtual machine (VM) implementation.
- Team player, ability to work independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Background in networking or information systems management.
- Possess a knowledge of municipal water/wastewater treatment processes and control systems, and information solution products.
- Experience with SCADA Network design and build.
- Experience with Radio telemetry design and build.
- Experience with SCADA System Integration including panel building, field wiring, testing, and commissioning of systems
- Certifications/Training: Relevant SCADA & PLC OEM certifications
- Experience with reviewing and creating designs for control systems, panel layouts, network architectures, and instrument location plans.
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting at desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. It may require lifting and carrying boxes of supplies or files up to 25 lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.
- Extended periods of walking throughout industrial facilities both inside and outside.
- May require climbing, working at heights, and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks. Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch for long periods. Work in loud areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions. Lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds.

- Industrial Control Equipment: VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, Embedded devices, Radios, etc.
- Operating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment.
Location and Travel:
- Lives within an hour of a major airport.
- Candidate must maintain a valid driver's license with no major infractions.
- Candidate must maintain a valid ‘REAL ID’ driver’s license or other TSA-approved identification.
- Reliable transportation for commuting to local project sites that don’t require rental vehicles.
