Manufacturing Specialist
As a Manufacturing Specialist you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Lead the team to identify and implement manufacturing process controls.
- To foster and develop new characterization methodologies to improve the processes.
- To identify, lead and implement continuous improvement projects targeting cost reduction, cycle time and quality improvements.
- To oversee site analytical equipment such as SEM, XRD, X-ray (2D/3D).
- To oversee X-ray Computed Tomography inspection process, build and modify automated processes to support production.
- To ensure compliance with state and internal rules and regulations for radiation safety of x-ray equipment and serve as a site Radiation Safety Officer
- To engage with customer base on a regular frequency as the site subject matter expert in process and materials.
- Direct contributor as part of the Site Leadership Team.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- PhD in Chemical, Ceramic, or Material Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
-OR
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Ceramic, or Material Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution with three (3) years of Production Management, Process Management and/or R&D
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master’s degree or higher in Chemical, Ceramic, or Material Engineering from an accredited university
- Experience with X-ray Computed Tomography and VG Studio MAX software is a plus
- Black Belt, Lean and Six Sigma certification - Strives to learn and dive deep to understand how things work making data driven decisions.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
