What you will learn and contribute to

As part of our team, you will:

• Independently develop RF optimization plans / solutions, features and field tests (e.g. drive tests, indoor measurements, etc…).
• Assess customer RFP or input documents, define solution with CNS Enterprise Campus Edge Solution (ECE Sol) Sales and Technical Sales teams and adapting Nokia blueprints to customer needs.
• Complete design and test documents during corresponding development stages.
• Study the RF design coverage maps and identify problem areas in terms of coverage, interference, or pilot pollution.
• Deliver radio planning projects according to the agreed scope of work (SoW), while managing customer’s expectations and schedule of acceptance.
• Collect all design assumptions for the assigned market from Technical Sales, including antenna database, morphology classes, coverage boundaries, site database, hotspots, service expectations, traffic data, and regulatory data (ASAC/FAA/FCC).
• Perform critical (sometimes escalated) design activities in customer projects independently. These may include complex problem-solving in projects with Design requirements in a multi-vendor environment.
• Execute technical activities and projects in own responsibility area. May work also outside of own process area on technical issues.
• Validate and analyze Design input data, and format and compile all required output reports.
• Create a project in the Atoll or iBwave RF planning tools on suitable PC/Cloud platforms. Load the terrain, clutter, antenna database, coverage boundaries, site database, traffic data, and detailed maps for the area (streets, major highways, local roads).
• Identify geographical features, not in the terrain and clutter databases. Incorporate path loss model, design assumptions, and link budget data in design, produce traffic maps, and run predictions and simulations as described in the RF Design.
• Recommend and implement changes in various network parameters including translation parameters, antenna configurations, etc..
• Generate final design documents and presentations and present them to Technical Sales.
• Utilizing automation (scripting/coding) to improve RF processes or databases and improve efficiency.
• Presentation skills with the ability to clearly present engineering results to Technical Sales / CSAs.
• Establish trusting relationship with CNS ECE Sol Sales and Technical Sales / Customer Solution Architects teams. Provide CNS ECE Sol portfolio technical remote support to CNS ECE Sol Sales and Technical Sales teams.

Your skills and experience

You have:

• At least 3 years of work experience in Planning, developing, and designing Radio Frequency (RF) Plans for LTE/5G Wireless Networks.
• Experience with RF planning tools (e.g. Atoll, iBwave) is a must.
• Thorough understanding of 3GPP specifications for LTE/LTE-A/5G features and Protocol
• Knowledge of mapping software such as MapInfo, Google Earth.
• Result-oriented with a focus on product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Team player, open communication, and ability to work in an international team.
• Long term technical career objective.
• Decision making capabilities.
• Good mindset on cost-effective designs.
• High responsibility, dedication, and team spirit; self-motivated and ability to work independently.
• Excellent verbal and written English are a must.
