Your key responsibilities

As a Manager in our SAP Financial Services practice, you will lead a workstream team through an SAP implementation cycle for specific functional areas, such as General Ledger and Reporting. You will play a vital role in delivering the SAP system and ensuring business integration while engaging with key client stakeholders. Your responsibilities include delivering comprehensive, timely, and budget-compliant deliverables that meet client expectations. Additionally, you will support EY leadership in identifying new implementation opportunities and contribute to the development of junior team members.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading a workstream within a larger finance transformation program. Activities range from strategy formulation to operational implementation
  • Develop a plan and execution strategy against key project deliverables and lead end-to-end delivery
  • Assisting Finance business teams reimagine their target state with the enablement of modern technology capabilities
  • Shaping the design of Finance operating models, introducing finance processes, and cutting-edge digital finance capabilities with a focus on SAP General Ledger, Asset Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Accounting, Finance Master Data Management, and Allocations
  • Collaborating with key business stakeholders to document business requirements and perform FIT-GAP analysis
  • Leading the development of high-level solution design
  • Leading a team to configure SAP-enabled solutions and completing relevant design specifications and configuration for the solution
  • Lead regular review and quality assurance routines with the team to ensure quality delivery
  • Overseeing testing of the solution and the defect break-fix cycle
  • Regularly communicating progress, identifying key risks early, developing action and mitigation plans, and escalating issues where appropriate
  • Collaborating with international teams on multi-disciplinary global business transformations

Skills and attributes for success

  • A passion for leading teams, developing talent, and building strong client relationships
  • Confidence in planning and executing all activities within the software development lifecycle for SAP ERP Finance (FICO) solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to connect with customers
  • Proficiency in developing implementation plans, clearly articulating progress, and identifying and communicating delivery risks

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A Bachelor's degree
  • At least 5 years of hands-on end-to-end SAP Core Finance (FICO modules) implementation experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of implementation experience in SAP S/4HANA, covering at least two SAP FICO modules
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a financial services company or comparable industry experience
  • A deep understanding of core finance processes (Record to Report, Source to Pay, Acquire to Retire, etc.) and the components of the Finance Technology Architecture (data warehouse, subledgers, general ledger, reporting tools, etc.), along with their interdependencies
  • Previous exposure to process design and mapping
  • A flexibility and willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 40-60%

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Extensive experience in requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, and solution design
  • Experience in data modeling and reporting engagements
  • Experience in quality assurance activities, including quality reviews and providing feedback on documentation
  • Experience with SAP RISE Migration and S/4HANA conversion (ECC to S/4HANA)
  • Familiarity to project management concepts and practices
  • SAP Certification(s)
  • A post-graduate or graduate degree in computer science, engineering, accounting, finance or a related field

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $141,200 to $258,900. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $169,500 to $294,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
