Your impact

Key responsibilities of our General Ledger Accounting Team Leader include*:

  • Managing the work of the team responsible for global Fixed Assets and Lease accounting and reporting (approx. 11 direct reports)
  • Taking full accountability and ownership of the Fixed Assets and Lease processes and other tasks handled by the team
  • Overseeing all accounting aspects of the entities and processes in scope, ensuring their compliance with company policies, internal controls, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly/quarterly reports, including FA/Lease Rollforwards, Addition and Depreciation Tie-outs, Construction in Progress and other as requested
  • Being Subject Matter Expert in accounting areas being part of the team’s scope
  • Close cooperation with Real Estate Operation team and assisting Manager, Corporate Accounting Director, or other corporate functions in ad hoc requests, as needed
  • Providing information to management by researching data requests and communicating findings, preparing reports if needed,
  • Providing documentation and preparing schedules to support both internal and external audits and SOX requirements
  • Regular open/aged items review and supporting resolution,
  • Leading conference calls with regional/corporate counterparties,
  • Supporting Regions/Controllers in various requests relating to Fixed Assets and Lease processes,
  • Participating in transition of work to GBS and driving process stabilization efforts within the area of responsibility,
  • Driving career development of subordinates, motivating team members,
  • Overseeing all activities within a team, organizing team initiatives,
  • Developing team strengths and improving weaknesses,
  • Guiding others in resolving complex issues in specialized area,
  • Identifying difficult situations/conflicts, preventing them if possible or working on their resolution,
  • Providing technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers,
  • Providing input on resource planning and policy development, coaching team members on performance, completing employee performance evaluations and recommending pay actions,
  • Driving process improvements/changes.

Here's what you'll need
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit or Tax, equivalent major or equivalent experience/professional qualifications
  • 7+ years of professional accounting or finance experience, including team leadership
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems (Oracle R12 preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills, in the area of motivation and professional development of subordinates
  • Talent to work/interact/communicate appropriately with different cultures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • English skills that allow to communicate fluently in everyday situations and actively participate/lead conference calls
  • Very good working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workloads, multi-task and meet required deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as the position requires direct interaction with external auditors, senior management and other functional groups and departments
  • Ability to build positive, strong working relationships and effectively cooperate with different global cultures
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and work late hours, especially during month end and quarter end close, to allow successful cooperation with US time zone-based teams and stakeholders.
