As software Tester for Linux on IBM Z you will be part of a team that drives technical innovation on the IBM zSystems platform. In this role, you will be critical for the market success by ensuring that the code quality drives excellent customer experience.

You will be responsible for in depth testing of System and performance for IBM Cloud Infrastructure with several combinations. This includes planning, maintaining and executing automated integration and regression tests (test models and test cases.) addressing the full breath of technical areas like System ,I/O, storage, network, security and Product Installation.You will be part of an experienced team of software developers and testers.

What you will do (Roles & Responsibilities) :

• Write and Execute test cases for System and Performance.
  • Further develop the test infrastructure (tooling, CI/CD, reporting)
• Responsibility for execution of test concepts and implementation of continuous integration.
• Development of procedures in the area of test automation.
• Write clear and detailed technical specifications and documentation.
• Collaborate in a global team with focus on test automation

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 2-4 years of experience in the field of system and performace test with focus on test automation in an agile environment
• Experience with Linux and Linux command line tools
• Knowledge about scripting languages like Bash
• High familiarity with Git
• Deep understanding of Linux kernel functionality and operation (e.g. memory and scheduling)
• Practical experience on how to debug Linux
• Very good command over English, both written and spoken
• Solid architectural knowledge of IBM Z Hardware and firmware.
• Understanding of virtualization concepts, especially LPAR, KVM and z/VM.
• Prior experience in collaboration with bring-up activities, infrastructure management, problem reporting and change management.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Prior contributions to Open Source projects or current Open Source Contributor
• > 2 years of experience with Linux OS
• Experience in scripting, phyton, Shell
• Skills in IBM Z architecture (“Principles of Operations”) , Networking and storage concepts.
• Experience with Linux on IBM Z, Linux command line tools
