Key Responsibilities:

• Develop andexecute the strategy for modernizing fraud risk decisioningat PayPalimplementingcutting-edgetechniquessuch asreinforcement learning, generativeAIand graph miningat scale
• Build and lead a high-performingdata science, machine learning engineering, and applied R&D teamsthat thrive on innovation, and collaboration, and execution
• Attract best in classData Science andAI talent to PayPal
• Partner with ProductandEngineeringteamproductionizestate of the artdata, AIOps,MLOps, decision platforms as well as real-time fraud management systems
• Oversee the design, implementation, and lifecycle of fraud risk models and other advanced capabilities
• Evangelize, Communicate and Influence, by driving alignment on vision, roadmap, investment needs,risksand opportunities with large cross functional teams
• Collaborating cross functionally in advancing PayPal’srisk decisioningcapabilities holisticallyacross thecustomerlifecycle, and deliver best-in-classriskexperiences for PayPalcustomer

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience leadingcutting-edgedata science, machine learning engineering, and applied R&D teams
• Provensubject matterexpertiseinat least two of the following areas:AI, optimization,graph mining, experimentation, and reinforcement learning
• Strong leadership skills witha track recordofattracting top technical talent,managingand developing high-performing teams
• Experience in designing and implementingAIsystems and toolsfor real-time decision making in extremely high velocitysettings
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience strategically influencing and aligning senior stakeholders and key partners to drive action and sustainable results in a dynamic and changing environment
• Familiarityto risk management fields such as fraud prevention isrequired, extensive experience is preferred
• Advanced degree isrequired; PhD is preferred
