Responsibilities
- Participate in small or large project tasks across all disciplines to produce project deliverables.
- Review supplier product drawing submittals and construction shop drawings
- Review construction submittals and process through Design Services During Construction (DSDC)
- Prepare construction as-builts
- Assist design team with structural design tasks.
- Field investigations to confirm existing site conditions.
- Work in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Excel, and Word, to support designers.
- Data research, preparing and distributing reports.
Here's what you'll need
- Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam, or ability to take and pass within 6-12 months of employment.
- Some experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other civil engineering-related software (Civil 3D, OpenRoads).
- Previous work experience or internship with engineering firms, contractors, or DOTs involved in the design, construction, or management of highway or other transportation-related projects.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational, and communication skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- A 3.0 GPA
- Engineer in Training (EIT)
- Master’s degree in structural engineering
- Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design software (preferably MicroStation/OpenRoads/Autocad/Civil3d)
- A previous internship related to bridge design
- Self-driven time management and organizational skills
