This position provides mechanical engineering design leadership of innovative technological solutions for a market leading DXA product line (bone density and body composition measurement devices) in addition to supporting a large global installed base.
Roles & Responsibilities- Develop innovative design solutions to meet all requirements for quality, performance, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in mechanical engineering design and processes
- Interact with global teams across GE HealthCare to maximize synergies across common platforms and components
- Utilize 3D design software to create detailed models and drawings.
- Lead technical design reviews for concept solutions, detailed designs, and evaluation of results with cross-functional and/or global teams
- Analyze and validate material/component selection, tolerances, performance, cost
- Perform design integration, verification, validation, FMEA, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability analysis/testing
- Work with suppliers to drive design for manufacturability and design to cost solutions
- Provide technical support for DXA products to field and factory
- Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time completion
Required Qualifications- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 5+ years of experience
- Expertise on design of mechanical technologies - electro-mechanical assemblies, sheet metal parts, machined parts, casted parts
- Expertise in one or more CAD tools for feature-based parametric and assembly modeling (Creo, SolidWorks)
- Exposure to finite element analysis and use of FEA tools
- Design for reliability / manufacturing / service / cost experience
- Experience with full product cycle from concept to stable production
