Mechanical designs from concept to production including but not limited to – prototyping, testing and validation
Participate in the development of system mechanical architecture
Investigate new technologies and manufacturing methods applicable for next generation products
Perform 3D modeling of components and assemblies
Drive design development on wire harnesses and lead electrical/physical integration and optimization issues with different teams (cross-functional Engineering, Manufacturing, etc.)
Design to significantly reduce mass and volume/space and to optimize wire bundle routing in the vehicle, minimize NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness), and improving durability
Work with Suppliers for Design-for-Manufacturability to reduce assembly complexity, cost and lead time reduction
Design components for ease and efficiency of manufacture and vehicle installation
Support prototype builds with quick-turn parts and make sure installation works properly as design-intended
Closely work with Reliability team to ensure proper testing on finished designs (vibe, corrosion, torque-to-failure, EMI/shielding, etc.)
