Specify, design, install, commission and validate intelligent electric furnaces for melting and holding of aluminum alloys, plus associated molten metal transport and metal treatment systems for large scale die casting applications with custom alloying capability
Diagnoses equipment failures, collect data to identify root causes and develop sustainable solutions
Develop expert-level training requirements for operator depended equipment and processes
Design and implement equipment reliability improvement projects
Maintain metallurgically the chemistry analysis of aluminum within specification and with clear nominal objectives
Check daily the cleaning processes of the furnaces and the condition of the refractory of melting and holding furnaces
Work on scheduling annual PM repairs of stack melters and corrective repairs of refractories
Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance of optical spectrometry equipment (Spectro). ICal & type standard calibration
Control of the liquid aluminum system in melting facilities, rapid response in cases of emergency furnace emptying
All furnaces are maintained with liquid aluminum regardless of whether there is production (24/7)
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering, or with equivalent experience
Hands on experiences in material or metallurgical is preferred
5+ years of experience in areas of aluminum Melting and its alloys
Outstanding root causing and problem-solving skills
Experience creating & maintaining a positive atmosphere in a collaborative work team
Defect analysis and providing solutions to these metallurgical defects in casting
