As Design Manager, you will report directly to the SaT Design Lead to manage the design and development of learning solutions based on validated business needs for our SaT business, ensuring quality standards are met. You will ensure agreed standards are applied and will coach Design and Development team members (including project managers and instructional designers) to deliver high quality, evidence-based learning solutions on time and budget.
Your key responsibilities
- Work closely with the Design Lead to support design teams (internal and external) to ensure the effective design and development of learning solutions to cost, time and quality requirements
- Provide guidance to design and development team members to deliver high quality, evidenced based learning solutions with impact for our people and the business.
- Ensure satisfactory completion of each phase of the Define, Design and Develop process through common methods and templates
- Ensure all key resources (including vendors, subject matter resources and technical reviewers) are supported effectively throughout design and development
- Work closely with the Learning Deployment team to ensure deployment planning is considered early in the design process and identify any considerations for learning design
- Support pilots and train the trainers as required
To qualify for the role you must have
- Knowledge of learning science and evidence-based design standards and practices to ensure that EY’s learning content is of the highest quality and has the desired business impact
- Strong project management, organization, and time management skills - ability to set priorities, and be proactive in constant changing priorities
- Strong influencing and communication skills - maturity to interact with Business Partners, Subject Matter resources and vendors, ability to deal with competing points of view and manage conflict
- Strong people leadership skills - ability to effectively manage and supervise resources with diversity and inclusiveness, ability to resolve issues or challenges as they arise
- Minimum of 5 years experience in managing learning design and development projects, preferably at a global level and/or to a dispersed client base
- Willingness to be part of a global team, including working alternative hours when required
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Creativity and out-of-the-box thinking in finding new ways of doing things
- Demonstrable experience of managing change initiatives in global, matrix organizations
- Demonstrable experience of working in fast-paced, stressful environments to deliver required results
- A bachelor’s degree and ideally higher professional or masters qualification in a related discipline
