Join the Touch ID team and play a pivotal role in leading the development of cutting-edge fingerprint biometric sensors. You'll be engaged in the entire sensor development lifecycle, from concept to mass production. You will be applying your expertise in analog and digital circuit design to design sensing modules and evaluate coexistence, electrical performance and product integration.
- What you'll do:
- Lead the TouchID electrical engineering team in the design, development, and integration of TouchID sensors for Apple products from concept to high-volume mass production.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams in cross-functional discussions, assessing technical risk, solving technical issues and defining strategy and convergence plans to meet product requirements.
- Present technical strategy and program issue status to senior leadership on a regular basis.
- Mentor and lead a team of engineers, guiding them through the process of schematic capture, PCB design, characterization, validation, and failure analysis.
- Lead the electrical engineer team in performing coexistence, signal and power integrity, and electrical integration assessments.

- As a key design partner, you work closely with the silicon, algorithms, mechanical design, manufacturing, among other cross-functional teams to deliver high performance sensors to our products.
- You have experience representing your team's work in high-stakes forums, shaping technical strategy through persuasive communication, and mentoring others in presenting their work effectively.
- Leadership experience managing engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to present complex technical topics clearly and concisely, influencing decisions and securing buy-in from senior leadership.
- Strong EE analog fundamentals with demonstrated experience in all phases of circuit design and development.
- Experience deep diving into complex technical challenges, identifying root cause hypothesis and solutions in a cross-functional and constrained environment.
- Experience creating engineering design, requirement, and specification documents.
- 2+ years of lead or management experience
- Experience with development process from early architecture through mass production.
- Experience with sensing or biometric system development
- Cadence experience a plus.
- Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscope, meters, etc.) and circuit simulation (SPICE).
- Proficiency in MATLAB and Python scripting tools.
- Experience with statistical analysis of production data (JMP, Tableau).
- Experience in FEA, simulation, and modeling tools (Comsol, ANSYS, Maxwell).
- Experience with high-volume mass production.
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience. PhD preferred.
