As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Quality Control and Risk Management: Establish and perform digital quality control of delivered goods and services, tailored to business and product risks.

  • Complaint Management: Initiate and manage the complaint process for non-conformities, including root cause analysis and preventive measures in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams. Utilize tools like SAP Q-Notifications and 8D-Reports, and handle cost negotiation through SAP Debit-notes with support from SQEs, buyers, and CCB members.

  • Quality Inspections: Escalate the need for quality inspections at supplier sites or during warehouse incoming inspections, coordinating with cross-functional teams.

  • Technology Support and Testing: Provide technical support for materials/products and develop testing specifications with dedicated cross-functional teams.

  • Supplier Performance: Evaluate supplier performance, support defining corrective measures in line with 8D philosophy, and improve supplier check/test strategies for incoming goods.

  • Logistics Coordination: Manage the replacement of defective deliveries and coordinate handling with suppliers, logistics, and buyers to ensure swift defect analysis and delivery capability.

  • Representation and Collaboration: Participate and represent Siemens in internal quality meetings and external discussions with suppliers.

  • Good knowledge and proven track record in Quality Management
    • Experience with quality control from manufacturing or distribution centers environment
    • Familiar with Inspection processes, SPC, Sampling, Documentation & Reporting, Quality Metrics
    • Familiar with Complaint Management, Root Cause Analysis processes and Continuous Development
    • Experience with Supplier Audits and Supplier Development
  • Preferably some technical background (mechanical/electric engineering)
  • Above average soft skills expected - professional communication, able to work on more complex issues remotely, able to come up with pragmatic solutions, drive & engagement
  • Good command of German and English language for communication with German factories
