Responsibilities

• Develop new capabilities, while coordinating implementation across a large number of teams including infrastructure, developer tools and information security
• Help organize, secure, and automate existing infrastructure and deployments
• Embed into application teams on a rotating basis
• Adapt existing capabilities to the team's specific circumstances, technology stack and business requirements
• Learn from applications internally developed best practices and help adopt them across the organization as new capabilities are created
• Automate, automate, automate - identify, enhance, and develop automation solutions around things like capacity issues, infrastructural lag, enhancing alerts, etc.
• Implement, monitor, and maintain CI/CD frameworks
• Prove and iterate capabilities by applying them to real world applications
• Work closely with developers to provide feedback and drive operational improvements within our products and operations infrastructure
• Take part in post-incident review and help guide changes to avoid future incidents in a blame-free post mortem
• Provide status updates to senior leadership engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Help influence a culture of Site Reliability Engineering
• Engage in training and mentoring to help develop other engineers with SRE mindset
• Serve as subject matter expert providing direction as needed
• Report on key performance (SLA) including major Incidents, major projects, etc.
• Broaden understanding of the Citi Technology Infrastructure organization
• Gain extensive product knowledge of the Citi Developed application

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in SRE with specific focus in Apps Development and/or Systems Analysis role
• 5+ years' experience in high-performance 24x7, DevOps or SysOps team environments
• Extensive experience of programming, deployment and operation of software applications
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases like Oracle, MongoDB
• Java Spring Framework development experience
• Experience in Config Management tooling e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet or Salt stack
• Experience writing automation tests
• Expert proficiency with implementing successful projects
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Experience and passion in mentoring more junior team members
• Team management with an ability to drive a positive wave within the team
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software
• Ability to work with global teams from several disciplines on a regular basis

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
