Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.

• 2+ years of Finance, Accounting, or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation and review of local corporate tax returns and related work papers. Preparation and review of extensions, quarterly estimated tax calculations, annual reports, and other necessary requirements;

  • Demonstrate strong business acumen to communicate effectively with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), manage tax incentives, and possess the ability to handle anticipated audits related to such incentives.

  • Possess advanced knowledge of Singapore GST returns and demonstrate leadership to independently manage ASK audits for MES Renewal.

  • Perform tax research and prepare technical memos to document findings related to local tax issues

  • Accounting for Income Taxes - assist with the preparation of supporting schedules used in the interim and year-end income tax provision for the US consolidated group;

  • Assist with internal compliance and local tax audits by gathering supporting documentation, performing tax analysis on related issues, and communicating with audit lead;

  • Partner with various business units to understand issues facing the business and provide guidance on tax-related issues;

  • Contribute to an environment of continuous process improvement by proactively identifying opportunities for efficiencies, developing creative solutions, and executing on implementation to realize the desired results;

  • Prepare statistics reports, if any

  • Establish relationships with key local stakeholders in a designated country

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting;

  • 5+ years working experience on tax role in MNC or Big 4;

  • Fluent at English writing and speaking;

  • Hands-on tax filing, familiar with tax filing system;

  • Familiar with Oracle and SAP, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft office tools;

  • Singapore CPA or AICPA and other professional certificates as a plus;

  • TP experience as a plus;

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong communication skills

  • Advanced understanding of financial reporting, tax regulation, and/or law in Singapore (e.g. Local regulatory requirements, Tax law, US GAAP and/or IFRS and others)

  • Excellent processing and transactional skills with an eye for detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on projects simultaneously

  • Ability to collaborate extensively with external accounting service providers and tax auditors

  • Proficient knowledge in basic application programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
