The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a
Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Identifying quality improvements through monitoring and trending of key quality characteristics
  • Initiating and completing technical activities to improve products, processes, or systems using continuous improvement methods and tools, such as: Lean Six Sigma, PPU (Product and Process Understanding), Design of Experiments, etc
  • Leading quality investigations, resolution, trending, material disposition, and supply projects
  • Supporting and/or leading efforts on risk management, product and process improvements, and other product documentation efforts to maintain product regulatory, ISO, and industry standards compliance
  • Regularly participating and working cross-functionally to guide project teams ensuring quality as a key focus in any change or continuous improvement activity
  • Communicating and interacting with multiple levels of leadership on Quality Metrics and performance

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) combined years of Quality, Manufacturing, and/or Product Engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Knowledge of Quality systems and performance metrics
  • Statistical knowledge and techniques e.g. root cause analysis tools, Design of Experiments (DOE), Sampling Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process and Product Understanding (PPU), and Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or plant environment
