This job will facilitatedesign, development, and testing to meet project objectives faster and moreefficiently and you develop and commercialize products & technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct experiments to assess refrigerant flammability characteristics, including lower flammability limits (LFL), upper flammability limits (UFL), minimum ignition energy (MIE), and burning velocity.
- Develop and validate test methods for evaluating ignition sources, flame propagation, and autoignition temperatures.
- Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) or other modeling techniques for flammability risk assessment.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety regulations and standards, such as ASHRAE 34, ISO 817 requirements.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and industry groups to stay updated on evolving flammability classifications and safety guidelines.
- Assist in developing new refrigerants.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
YOU MUST HAVE- Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field OR
- 8+ years of experience in refrigerant flammability testing, fire safety, or related areas in HVAC&R, chemical, or automotive industries.

- Understanding of refrigerant thermodynamics, properties.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to different stakeholders.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience working with refrigerants
- Knowledge of UL, ASHRAE, and ISO flammability classification methods.
- Hands-on experience in setting up and operating flammability test rigs.
