As a
Production Shift Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Will be responsible for driving Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and Employee Engagement improvements. This is primarily an afternoon position (second shift), however at times business needs may dictate the need to work rotating shifts, weekend shifts, and/or extended hours.
- Provides appropriate training and instructions to employees on standard and new operating procedures; reviews, updates and communicates product standards
- Ensures a safe working environment through formal inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, safety meetings, and utilizing proper work methods, procedures and equipment; provides effective communication to employees through crew meetings, electronic mail, etc.
- Responsible for the day to day operations of a production area which may be on a rotating shift basis
- Monitors production rates, yields, and quality of products daily and provides feedback to employees
- Applies working knowledge and interpretation of corporate and plant policies and procedures; prepares and analyzes production indices for reporting purposes
- Monitors and projects material usage to ensure adequate supply
- Coordinates the activities of outside interests such as maintenance, contractors, visitors, etc.
- Participates in assigned team functions and projects
- Willing to work rotating shifts, weekend shifts, extended hours should the need arise and willing to be available 24/7 to support a continuous manufacturing operation
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Three (3) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Associates degree or higher from an accredited university
- Demonstrated ability to promote positive employee relations and effective team leadership
- Demonstrated ability to drive and influence positive change
- Effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work in teams and individually to achieve results
Work location:
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
