What You'll Do

• Design, deliver and maintain systems that enforce trip-scale compliance and impact millions of Uber drivers, partners and riders.
• Convert requirements into architecture and deliverables, while maintaining operational efficiency and health.
• Provide technical leadership and partner with fellow engineers to architect, develop and scale Uber's Access Enforcement Platform.
• Write clear documentation so that other engineers can partner to contribute and deliver.
• Drive ongoing efficiency and reliability improvements that improve the quality of the systems.
• Mentor and support your fellow teammates.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Experience coding using general purpose programming language (eg. C/C++, Java, Python, Go, C#)
• Experience designing high throughput and low latency distributed systems
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to influence others within your team and outside your team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with latest system architecture technologies, large-scale distributed systems and trends
• Experience building large-scale configuration management systems and rule engine

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.

For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.
