JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Advanced R&D Engineer here at Honeywell Advanced Connected Sustainable Technologies, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative cryogenic solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will collaborate with world-renowned engineers to design, test, and validate cryogenic systems and components for various applications. Your expertise in engineering principles will drive the development of cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the success of our projects and programs. You will report directly to our Sr R&D Manager and you’ll work out of our Golden Valley, MN location on a regular office (non-hybrid) work schedule. In this role, you will impact the development of advanced cryogenic systems and components, ensuring high performance, reliability, and efficiency. You will be responsible for designing and optimizing cryogenic processes, conducting experiments and tests, analyzing data, and providing technical guidance to cross-functional teams. Your work will contribute to the advancement of cryogenic technologies in the areas of ultra high vacuum and hardware/software pump/valve control systems,

The annual base salary pay range for this position is ($113,000.00 - $141,000.00). Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designing and optimizing components and interfaces for cryogenic applications
  • Partnering with the Principal Investigator, Program Manager, and Project Engineers for project execution
  • Conducting experiments and tests to evaluate component performance and reliability
  • Analyzing data and providing technical guidance to cross-functional teams

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
• 5+ years of experience in design engineering and product lifecycle (feasibility through system prototype or release)
• Proven track record of designing systems involving fluid and/or gas flow in a pressurized or vacuum environment • Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field

  • Strong working knowledge of cryogenic systems and components (vacuum, pumps, sensing, fluidics)
  • Experience in designing and optimizing cryogenic systems
  • Experience with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Mathematica, SolidWorks)
  • Knowledge of cryogenic safety practices and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
