The Senior/ Principal Project Manager is responsible for leading project teams to provide project and design management services to the clients in the Energy & Power market. Your role expectation is to oversee project teams and deliver consultancy engineering services for clients in the transmission and distribution sectors. You will manage project and design management including but not limited to HV Elec, civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering disciplines. You will manage a project team across the APAC region and in our Global Delivery Centres.
As a Senior/ Principal Project Manager you will be able to multi-discipline and complex projects to achieve targeted outcomes. Specific responsibilities may include:
- Demonstrated leader in safety culture and outcomes on major projects, fluent in HSE requirements. Comfortable leading safety for both the Jacobs team and Contractor site teams.
- Responsible for implementing Jacobs QA procedures and Client QA requirements. Monitoring and reporting of project progress, risks, and issues.
- Drive accountability for the products and services provided to clients within the team, including effective management of commercial outcomes.
- Hands on project and design management across multiple disciplines including but not limited to those within the Energy and Power Business Unit.
- Commercial Management for projects; contracts, time, cost, change management, reporting.
- Drives project governance, financial hygiene/performance and technical compliance across projects and portfolios, including implementing process improvements where identified.
- Collaborate with the Integrated Delivery Lead, MOPs, Bid Manager and Clients (where appropriate) to Identify individuals and opportunities to betters utilise GID resources on APAC projects.

- Take ownership of the development of proposals and participate in business development activities. This may include the development and review of proposals with a focus on execution strategy, risks, and commercial position.
- Perform client and relationship management activities; ability to win repeat business, build trust, have difficult conversations and be the trusted advisor to clients.
- Demonstrated ability to lead design and multi-disciplinary teams effectively.
- Role model and mentoring for junior Project Managers
- Ability to oversee a portfolio of projects providing leadership and governance to those projects and be the key contact for those clients.
- Advises Sales and Operations in project delivery and commercial risks.
- Ability to perform project governance functions such as Designated Project Executive functions.
- Ability to lead a programme of works.
- Act as a Project Manager on behalf of clients as an Owners Engineer or representative, demonstrating versatility and problem solving.
- The Senior PM will be expected to lead teams during all phases of the project from engineering, procurement, surveillance, construction, and commissioning, may including managing a site team.
- The Senior PM is also expected to support mentoring and coaching initiatives and may also be required to carry out governance functions on smaller projects or otherwise assist in troubleshooting problem projects.

Your target clients are predominately based in Australia and will include range of Industrial Projects, and AusNet Projects, and you work with Panel and Client Managers to build relationships and help position for future projects. You will work closely with team and discipline leaders to plan, scope, and deliver coordinated services including commercial management, managing contracts, time, cost, change management and reporting. You will provide leadership and governance as the Designated Project Executive on your projects and drive project performance while coaching and guiding your teams.
While this position may be called upon for a variety of projects, the PM is required to have essential experience in Transmission & Distribution design projects. The Senior/ Principal Project Manager is required to understand the development and design of transmission infrastructure, including substations and overhead lines. The Senior/ Principal Project Manager will be capable of acting in a Design Manager capacity on these projects where required, supported by the discipline engineers.
