Build data products (feature datasets, analyses, models, etc.), scalable tools (typically in Python) and dashboards to drive hypothesis generation and support collaborative decision-making with our partner teams in engineering and product management
Design, create and validate actionable metrics, at both the component level and to measure overall user engagement and experience
Design effective experiments for evaluating complex data and machine learning-based systems
Develop models and analyses to mine large volume of data, extract insights, and recommend opportunities for product improvements
Automate analyses and pipelines via SQL and Python-based ETL frameworks
Communicate insights to partner teams to influence product direction with data
Use data intuition to translate hard product goals and business problems into solvable data science problems
MS/PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Operations Research, or similar quantitative domain
5+ years experience with data analysis at web scale or relevant work experience
Proficient in Python
Proficient in at least one database language (e.g., SQL, Snowflake)
Strong in translating ambiguous business questions and needs into clear technical requirements, and using statistical techniques to find solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven experience communicating complex technical concepts to senior executives to drive data-informed decision
Strong ability to manage priorities and demonstrated leadership in cross-functional collaboration with teams across engineering, product, business, design, and more
Prior industry experience with AB testing and causal inference
Experience in information retrieval
Prior proven industry experience with large data sets using technologies like Hadoop and Spark
Experience writing pipelines for automating analytics tasks at scale
Experience mentoring junior data scientists and leading projects of varying sizes and scopes
