As a Cloud Systems Engineer, a Typical Day Might Include the Following:
- Manage and deploy Windows Domain and Active Directory environment
- Deploy Servers
- Deploy and Manage Public Cloud Compute and Storage Set up and maintain server system and file security
- Manage Lab and Production Infrastructure
- Performing OS level Patching
- Performing Systems and Hardware Level Upgrades
- Deploy, Configure and Maintain Physical Storage (SAN)
- Monitor and optimize performance of servers
- Manage Virtualization Environments
- Maintain documentation of Environment and Processes
- Work with vendors to troubleshoot problems and RMA parts as needed
- Manage and deploy Linux server installations
To Land This Gig You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience required.
- Experience Leading Projects and Delivering Solutions Through Completion
- 2+ years working in a Public Cloud environment
- 3+ years managing and deploying Windows OS Servers preferably in a production environment
- 3+ years managing and deploying Windows domains, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and IIS
- 3+ years performing and management of OS patching
- 3+ years installing/configuring server hardware and OS
- 5+ years managing and deploying virtual environments
- 2+ years managing physical storage and SAN
- 3+ years managing and deploying blade servers/Enterprise Compute
- 3+ years hands on experience with engineering operations or enterprise operations
- Experience successfully working in fast paced, production environments
- Experience working within a team of IT professionals; taking and following direction and completing tasks and assignments in a timely manner with a positive attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have good attention to detail, and the ability to make good, timely decisions
- Be a Team-player, have a positive attitude and able to work with a distributed team in multiple time zones
- Knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, SMTP and SNMP
- Be a self-starter who is proactive, motivated and can work independently
- Experience with Chef or similar technologies
Bonus Experience:
- Configuration and management of HP Enterprise Servers and/or Cisco UCS
- Experience working with config management and automation technologies
- Comfortable working with changing timelines and deadlines
