Work closely with U.S. senior analyst in assembling/updating financial models on covered companies using SEC filings, company conference calls, and press releases.
Conducting financial, statistical and industry analysis on companies and the industry to support the team’s investment thesis.
Gathering data from publicly available sources; analyzing data on the industry and companies covered for insights.
Researching sector trends that may impact company/sector recommendations; track relevant US macro news stories and provide support on idea generation and writing of strategy reports.
Writing short notes and lengthy reports on covered companies and the industry
Writing sections of coverage initiations & company conference call summaries
Analyze data in market research databases; seek out new, unusual sources of information to augment research capabilities.
Manage full range of data inputs to regularly published franchise pieces (i.e., weekly, monthly reports); updating exhibits for these publications.

Experience in Power, Utilities & Clean Energy sectors

Education*
Education in MBA/CA or equivalent from reputed institutes
CFA is a plus
Experience Range*
Good to have at least 5-10 years of prior experience in Equity or Credit research role, buy side experience or investment banking experience.
Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics.
Mandatory skills*
Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel (including nesting functions)
Ability to build complex models using nested excel/Bloomberg/FactSet functions; build/maintain financial models including fixing for errors; use a wide range of market data sources especially Bloomberg/FactSet.
Strong ability to write for business, particularly for the financial community.
Ability to track and update data files used by the team and to automate processes where possible.
Strong ability to understand complex concepts, find creative ways to analyze topics and write short/lengthy reports for the financial community.
Desired skills*
