DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a data scientist to lead high visibility initiatives for forecasting Amazon Stores' financials. You will develop new science-based forecasting methodologies and build scalable models to improve financial decision making and planning for senior leadership up to VP and SVP level. You'll design and implement automated end-to-end ML and statistical forecasting solutions that aim to transform financial planning for Amazon Stores.Key job responsibilitiesDesign, develop and evaluate new models for forecasting problems
Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders across every step of science project life cycle

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of data scientist experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 3+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment
- The ability to implement models and tools through the use of scripting languages (e.g. Python, R)


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- PhD or Master's Degree plus 4+ years of experience in Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Economics or related field
- Experience with Time Series Modeling and/or Predictive Modeling techniques
- Knowledge of AWS tech stack (e.g., AWS Redshift, S3, EC2, Glue)
- Expertise in a broad range of statistics and machine learning methods
- 4+ years of experience building statistics or machine learning models for business applications
- Demonstrated research experience in either Time series forecasting or ML Forecasting with a proven track record of publications in conferences and journals
