This position reports directly to the Jacobs Project Manager, and is based in our Richmond, Virginia office. In this role, your primary responsibility will be serving as a project engineer for an established public utility Capital Improvements Program. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Draft construction work orders
o review sewer inspection videos and assess existing site conditions to identify necessary sewer main, manhole and lateral repair and rehabilitation requirements,
o review of construction plans for quantity takeoffs,
o field investigation in support of construction project development,
o construction plan development on ArcGIS and cost estimates with established unit price bid schedules using the Microsoft Office suite,
- coordinate with City agencies, contractors, and third parties in the preparation of construction assignments,
- prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes, and
- perform warranty inspections for completed projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, or related technical field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and disciplined time management skills
- The ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and to react to change in a fast-paced environment.
- This position will require a minimum of 3 days/week in the office
- This position will require about 1-day/week in the field to assess site conditions and scope construction work orders
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Prior experience with MS Office Suite of tools
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS software
