Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance Java microservices and AWS Serverless applications.
- Architect and develop solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and more.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features and enhancements.
- Ensure the adoption of best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of applications.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and apply them to improve existing systems and processes.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Extensive experience with AWS Serverless technologies, including Lambda and Step Functions.
- Excellent knowledge of software development and testing practices, including TDD, BDD, and automated testing and continuous delivery frameworks and methods.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with Agentic AI technologies and frameworks.
- Familiarity with AI-driven decision-making processes and autonomous systems.
- Ability to integrate AI solutions into existing software architectures.
