Job Summary:

The role will focus on trade flow management, platform support, T+0 trade support, settlement, and resolution of complex ad hoc issues. The individual will also be responsible for ensuring proper controls are in place across all functions and ensuring that all new or potential risks are identified and documented within the Capital Markets & Security Operations risk and control framework. In addition, the individual will be expected to drive strategic efficiency initiatives in daily operations, and help define the operational model for new business initiatives and strategic business/regulatory agendas. These responsibilities entail working closely with the Front Office, Core Operations, Technology, Supervisory, Risk, Compliance, and other areas of the firm, both regionally and globally.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with different functional areas including Technology, Front Office Product Desks, Supervisory Management, Compliance, and Settlements to implement process, product and system changes
  • Act as a Middle Office stakeholder for business, control, and regulatory implementation agendas
  • Provide support to the Front Office to resolve ad hoc queries pertaining to order submission, order routing, order execution management, booking and settlement.
  • Monitor and action break and fail management reports to reduce business risk
  • Coordinate with investment technology to resolve daily defect management and drive strategic trading application enhancements
  • Consistent focus on improving functional efficiency and control of daily tasks
  • Assist with compiling required metrics for regular management reporting and refining those metrics on an continuing basis
  • Document procedures and process flows, and ensure they are kept accurate
  • Assist in developing and reviewing documented test plans, and coordination of test scenarios
  • Assist in the development of training materials

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Analytical Skills: must be highly analytical with experience collecting, parsing and leveraging objective data to drive strategic recommendations
  • Problem Solving Skills: candidate must be able to identify, understand, and address operational and technical issues swiftly while maintaining a risk-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to clearly articulate issues and influence resolution
  • Ability to multitask and to work under pressure, prioritizing duties according to risk
  • Ability to face off with demanding stakeholders, managing their expectations while also developing strong working relationships with them
  • A self-motivated individual who is able to deliver with minimal supervision while working effectively as part of a team
  • Previous experience in the Financial Services industry, ideally with specialization in Equity Derivative and/ or Cash Equities products or trade support. Work Experience: 2+ years broker dealer or wealth management experience
  • Knowledge of clearing, settlements, asset services, and transaction lifecycles
  • B.A. or B.S. required
  • Series 7 or a willingness to obtain within 180 days
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with intelligent automation tools (Alteryx, Tableau, RPA, Xceptor) a major plus
